CORPORATE
HOSPITALITY AT YORK RACECOURSE
The Ebor
Festival 2008
Tuesday 19th – Friday 22nd August 2008
World class racing meets high society for the Ebor
Festival, the jewel in the crown of York Racecourse. The course, known as the
Knavesmire, has been a favourite amongst racegoers since it was founded in 1731.
For the first time ever you’ll be able to wind down to the weekend with a visit
to the Ebor Festival on a Friday, August 22nd. With record prize money of over
£2.5 million on offer over the four days and no race worth les than £25,000 this
is a Festival packed with top class action. The racegoers and the racecourse
itself dressed in their best, it’s THE week to come to York. With plans to move
to a six race programme each day, there is opportunity to stage three extra
races. One of these is planned to be the Group 3 Strensall Stakes from the
September meeting.
The highlight of the opening day, Tuesday 19th, will be the richest ever race at
York, the Group One Juddmonte International; the Wednesday is famous for being
Ebor Day and will continue to feature the totesport Ebor; Thursday is Ladies Day
so the Group One Darley Yorkshire Oaks is top of the bill as the fillies take
centre stage; the Coolmore Nunthorpe, the UK’s only Group One five furlong
sprint will therefore be a thrilling climax on the Friday to both the Ebor
Festival and the 2008 season.
