International Tennis Championships in Eastbourne

Britain's biggest women's tennis tournament is held at Eastbourne's Devonshire Park every June.

World's Top Players
The world's top players compete for the prestigous Eastbourne title, currently held by Justine Henin.

Justine retained her title in 2007 after beating Amelie Mauresmo in a tense three set tie-breaker lasting more than two and a half hours.

Record Crowds
The event enjoyed its best ever year in 2007 creating an all time attendance record of 36,121 visitors.


The crowds enjoyed a glamorous Ladies Day on Tuesday, along with tennis themed cocktails, shopping village, live music and exclusive hospitality.

Over 3,500 local children also took part enjoying coaching at Tennis on the Beach and competing in the Road to Eastbourne tournament.

Trophy Holders
The prestigious Eastbourne trophy has been held by many greats, including 11 times champion Martina Navratilova, who also received the Freedom of the Borough of Eastbourne in 2005 after announcing her final year at the tournament.
